Seminar info
Who should attend?
Anyone who lives in the Charlotte area who wants to gain a better understanding of photography, their camera, and what simple steps they can take to be more in control of the outcome. Whether you are new to digital photography or not, these seminars are geared for those who may be frustrated with their camera and the photo taking process and those just wanting to learn a little more about photography to help achieve better results.
What will be discussed?
As much as possible in a 4 hour period. We will touch on focus locking, ISO setting, aperture and shutter speed settings, lens choices, and impart fundamental knowledge that will allow you to be more in control of your camera. We will also discuss different ways of seeing and how to use light effectively to create great photos. There are technical hurdles that need to be overcome to produce better results, but there is so much we can control with how we approach photography as well that can turn average photos into ones you will be proud of. This seminar will be a balance of technical instruction on how to make better sense of your camera as well as tips and techniques that you can use to become more inspired by your own photography that will open your eyes to a new way of seeing through your lens.
Where will the seminars be?
There will be three unique locations for my seminars that will be in a natural outdoor environment. The locations were specifically chosen for their pleasant atmospheres that will allow us to use the environments to create real situations for hands on instruction and demonstration. I am a firm believer in experiential learning and feel that participants will gain much more by being able to take what we discuss and put it into immediate action. While holding a seminar outside risks an occasional seminar to be rescheduled due to weather, I believe the benefits are well worth it. To learn more about the seminar locations click HERE.
What do you need to bring?
Your own camera, questions, and a desire to try new things.
Who am I?
I am a professional photographer who has been shooting assignments for commercial, corporate, and editorial clients for over 14 years. I am also a husband and father of two. My professional experience allows me to help participants solve technical problems, teach basic techniques and principals, and explain how cameras work. My personal life experience allows me to understand the challenges of photographing your child playing a fast moving sport, the desire to document a fantastic vacation, or the simple goal of capturing and preserving memories in better quality. I will draw from both experiences to help you meet your goals.

When will the seminars be held?
Seminars will be added periodically based on weather and demand, both during the week and on weekends. If individuals would like to organize their own group or would prefer 1 on 1 consultation to better meet their specific needs, feel free to contact me directly or continue to the pricing page for more information.
How many participants will there be?
To create a more intimate seminar at unique locations where individual attention can be given, the maximum participants will be 8. A minimum of 3 will be required to hold a seminar. If a class cannot be filled on the day you have selected, every effort will be made to reschedule you for another seminar. A full refund will be given if we are not able to accommodate a rescheduling.
How much does it cost?
The price of each 4-hour seminar will be $ 125.00 per person, which includes any location fees. For any individual who organizes their own group of at least 4, I will reduce their fee to $75.00. If you would prefer 1 on 1 consultation, click here for more information.
