About ABOUT ME: History: Born in Baltimore, grew up in Cincinnati, and gladly call North Carolina home. Growing Up: I was lucky enough to have parents who did not suppress my desire for risk and adventure….. or perhaps being the middle child of 6 they were just too busy to keep track of me. Whatever the case, I took advantage and sought every opportunity to travel, climb, kayak, mountain bike, camp, explore and get dirty. Family Life: I have a fantastic wife, 2 awesome “teenagers” who are the students that I should have been, and the usual 4 legged family members. Better Half: My wife is Italian, an incredible cook, and I have a ridiculously high metabolism. Works out well for me! Achievement: I once backpacked down and up the Grand Canyon in less than 28 hours! Not by choice. We were kicked out because of a massive snowstorm approaching that would have stranded us at the bottom for a week. Best Advice: Upon graduating with a BA in photography, I asked my instructor/career advisor for advice on breaking into the field. His reply; “You know you can’t support yourself doing this” It honestly ended up being the best advice I ever received and gave me all the fuel I needed. Negative Attribute: I am awful at remembering names. Emotional triggers: If my client isn’t happy…..I am miserable. I also get fairly irritated when someone illegally parks to save 30 seconds and several steps. My happy place is my backyard fire pit with beer in hand...... and dog by my side. Yes, my family knows it. Fuel Source: I have come to realize that as unpredictable, fast paced, and stressful location work can be, it is when I feel my most creative and at my best. What I need: Projects and Deadlines! I crave them.
